Step-by-Step Guide for Creating an Email QR Code:
- After logging into your ConnectQR account, click on “Create QR” and then choose between “Dynamic QR” or “Static QR”. For now we’ll select “Email” under “Dynamic QR”.
- Pick a name for your new QR code and enter it into the “Name Your QR” box. Add a name for your QR code for future reference. Add tags for your new code in the “Tags” box. These tags help you search for QR codes and others like it in the future.
- In the “Recipient” field, you must enter the email address that you want the audience to send an email to. For example, if you want your audience to scan the QR code and send an email to your contest giveaway address, you must enter that address.
- Please add a relevant subject line under the “Subject” field so you can quickly identify the QR code-enabled emails in the email inbox. You can also add a template response under “Message”, which will appear in the main body of your email.
- Done! You can now download the QR code in the file format of your choice (JPG, SVG, PNG) and use it immediately. Click on “Access My ConnectQR” edit or check the analytics for your new dynamic QR code!
- You can continue to customise your QR code by choosing between “Customise QR Code” and “AI QR Code” under the “Additional Options” heading. If you select “Customise QR Code”, you can customise your QR code’s appearance and even add your logo to it. Our “AI QR Code” feature allows you to use AI tools to create a truly unique QR code quickly and it is available to paid subscribers only.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Make sure your email address is entered correctly in the “Recipient” field. When the QR code is scanned, it will automatically open the sender’s email client and write an email addressed to the “Recipient” email address with the “Subject” and the “Message” you have selected. This will encourage the person who scanned the email QR code to send you this template email and start a conversation with you.
- QR code readability can affect its performance so make sure that you use appropriate colours. A good rule of thumb is to use dark colours for your QR code pattern and a light colour for the background so they are easily distinguishable by both people and cameras.
- QR code size is another factor that can affect performance greatly because if it is too small, scanners will not pick it up easily. The minimum QR code size for printed QR codes should be 1 inch (2.54 cm).
