How to Create a QR Code for Your App

Making a dynamic QR code for your app takes just a few minutes and you can even use your app logo in the code to make your brand more recognisable.

Apps are helpful in many online and offline ways so why should promoting and downloading them remain a strictly online activity? Well-placed QR codes are especially valuable when it comes to guiding first-time users to an app and when these codes are placed in the right context, they lead to a surge in app usage and popularity.

Making a dynamic QR code for your app takes just a few minutes and you can even use your app logo in the code to make your brand more recognisable. Let’s take a look at the steps you need to follow to create your own App QR code with ConnectQR.

Step-by-Step Guide for Creating a QR code for your App:

1) After logging into your ConnectQR account, click on “Create QR” and then choose between “Dynamic QR” or “Static QR”. For now we’ll select “App” under “Dynamic QR”.

2) Pick a name for your new QR code and enter it into the “Name Your QR” box. You must also add your “App Name” and you can add your “Developer/Company” name here. Add tags for your new code in the “Tags” box. These tags help you search for QR codes and others like it in the future.

3)On this page, you must also enter important information about your app such as your “Google Store download link” and/or your “App Store download link” for immediate downloads. You can also add a “Description” of your app and your “App Logo” as well and preview the design before clicking “Save” to proceed.

4) Done! You can now download the QR code in the file format of your choice (JPG, SVG, PNG) and use it immediately. Click on “Access My ConnectQR” edit or check the analytics for your new dynamic QR code!

5) You can continue to customise your QR code by choosing between “Customise QR Code” and “AI QR Code” under the “Additional Options” heading. If you select “Customise QR Code”, you can customise your QR code’s appearance and even add your logo to it. Our “AI QR Code” feature allows you to use AI tools to create a truly unique QR code quickly and it is available to paid subscribers only.

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Make sure all your app details are correct and that the URL links you’ve entered go to the pages you had in mind. You can easily edit a dynamic QR code’s details but a static QR code cannot be changed once it has been generated.
  • QR code readability can affect its performance so make sure that you use appropriate colours. A good rule of thumb is to use dark colours for your QR code pattern and a light colour for the background so they are easily distinguishable by both people and cameras.
  • QR code size is another factor that can affect performance greatly because if it is too small, scanners will not pick it up easily. The minimum QR code size for printed QR codes should be 1 inch (2.54 cm).
